I love my NH TC33D, but I just wanted to mention that I noticed two cracks in the cowling (blue plastic) that the instrument cluster is screwed to. The cracks are radiating out from where the screws go in to hold the instrument cluster on.

The cracks are hard to notice when they start, but take a close look and get the cowling replaced if your warranty is still in effect. I was lucky I noticed them while my warranty was still good (by 2 days!!!!). No problem getting the cowling replaced, but I'm concerned this may be a weakness in the design (or the screws were torqued too much at the factory) - I only have 180 hours on the machine. I'm worried that after another 200 hours the cracks will reappear. Time will tell! Still.....a great little machine!!!

Anyone have any ideas how I can set up a system to mist or water an indoor area about 120' X 60' --- I've got washed concrete sand, but it gets real dusty when my wife runs the horse around. I don't have water to the site yet, but someone told me I should be able to find a pump for the PTO on my tractor. If I run plastic piping along the ceiling (14') with nozzles every 10' or so could I then hook up the pump to a water source (barrels??) and mist the area. Does this sound reasonable or does someone have another idea or so??

Alan - I agree with Rob ---726 hours in two years seems like this machine was well used - I'd go for the new 33D, but drop the super steer (save the $900) unless you have some special circumstances where you need it. I have the 33D w/o super steer and it steers well and there is less to go wrong. You also should be able to knock a couple hundred off the loader- to about $2900-$3000.

Any opinions out there on rotary cutters?? I have a NH TC33D and am looking at mainly pasture cutting, occasional tall grass, small shrubs. I've looked at Bush Hog SQ600 ($1,000),Woods XT160 ($1,150), Land Pride ($1,550) and NH 951B ($1,200) - the Bush Hog and Woods seem well built. Also any opinions on the prices I was quoted??

About given up on trying to get a "great" deal like John Shade --- any New Holland dealers in Western NY area willing to let go of a new TC33D with loader for $16500 or there abouts?? Probably need a rotary cutter also, but want to keep simple. Reply to me either here at CTB or to my email direct.

Jill and Others: No luck yet - I've had a dealer get down to $13,300 for the TC29D and $14,200 for the TC33D (he said his cost was $14,055 for the TC33D)- still about $500-$600 more than some of the prices I've seen discussed here. So....I'm still working on it, maybe this month. The loader is $3050 to $3100, but most dealers will try for $3200 to start. Let me know how you are making out with prices.

John --what part of the country do you live in? I can't get NH dealers to even talk below $17,500 for a 33D (without supersteer - $14,500 for tractor and $3,000 for the loader is where I'm at). How did your wife approach this? Give us some clues so we can try to get a similar deal!!! And...what was the price on the 29D before you upgraded?
